What is the Prison Service Charity Fund all about?
It all started when an Officer at Liverpool Prison Granddaughter needed to go to America for an urgent operation to remove a growth on her face. If she did not have this operation it would block her nose and mouth and stop her from breathing.
Staff at Liverpool Prison decided to raise funds to assist sending this little girl, Faye Watling to America for this much needed operation.
The operation would cost in the region of £86,000 and in 1987 that was a lot of Money!
Other Prison’s in the North West heard about this and decided to help, meaning the cause went National, with more and more Prison staff donating. They soon raised enough money, in fact they had raised a massive £320,000.

Robbie Jones now aged 16 is our long-standing mascot. The PSCF has supported those who have been raising funds to support Robbie and his family and enable him to live as normal a life as possible, after losing both legs as a result of Meningitis.
