I am writing to acknowledge receipt of a cheque for £2,000 from the Prison Service Charity Fund, hand delivered by Denise Bolton.
This is an extremely generous donation and we are ever so grateful that SLEAP was considered for this bequeathed special donation.
It is on behalf of all the young people and families we support that I thank you. Please do pass our heartfelt thanks to all in your team.
Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of many young people, as we help them to overcome the different struggles they are facing.
We can assure you that 100% of your donation to SLEAP will be spent directly on supporting young people out of homelessness. We know that the work we do makes a huge difference both in the immediate circumstances and long term.
This is what a young person recently said to us:
“Being on SLEAP has given me somewhere safe to live with support, this has meant that I can do my studying and get out of my comfort zone by trying new things.”
Obviously, we love it when we hear back from young people who have moved on, telling us how well they are doing. Here’s a message we received on social media:
“Hi I was on SLEAP quite a few years ago, I’m not sure if any of you would remember me but I never got the chance to thank you all for helping me so much. Not only did you keep me off the streets you helped me overcome a lot of bad times in my life and I’ve been in my home for 5years now, so thank you “
