Goscote Palliative Care Centre. HMP Birmingham.

Hi

I am contacting you regarding a recent donation which was sent to me from the Prison Service Charity Fund.

My name is Matt Harris, and I am currently a C.M. serving at HMP Birmingham. I recently met Mr White when he visited us at Birmingham and informed me about what the Charity Fund does and told me to contact you regarding a recent fund-raiser I did.

In February of this year, I held an awards presentation (as part of the British Boxing Board of Control). Part of the afternoon involved fund raising for a local hospice – the Goscote Palliative Care Centre. This centre offers palliative care for people. In November of last year, they cared for my dad.

Being honest, I did not expect to hear anything, so you can imagine my surprise when a cheque for £1399.74 was passed to me by Jo Steventon.

Last week we took the cheque to the centre, my son Jack presented the cheque in memory of his grandad. The money, along with the £1399.74 I have previously given them will be put towards buying much needed equipment for the rooms at the hospice.

I have attached a photo of my son, Jack handing over the cheque.

There will be a letter of thanks posted to me from the Hospice, I will forward this to you when I receive it.

Thank you so much for your support and generosity.

Regards

Matt
