Firstly I would like to thank you for inviting me to the PSCF AGM- what a day! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had a great time meeting my colleagues and the committee.

With the additional support form yourself I managed to raise £2700 with my Marathon run.

First of all, I am writing on behalf of all of us here at the Shooting Star charity to express our grateful thanks to you for the recent further kind donation of £1,000 in support of Steffi Lakes, HMP Berwyn, who recently ran the London Marathon for our charity.
This is a wonderful additional contribution for our small charity, on top of what was raised by Steffi’s colleagues, family and friends, and you and your committee can be sure it will be put to good use in a very practical way as we at the Shooting Star charity continue to support the wonderful work of the staff at the Shooting Star unit in Wrexham, as well as the cancer specialists working in the various departments at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
As part of our work in this charity we do find we are frequently able to cut through the NHS bureaucracy and assist people on a really practical level by the speedy purchase of major pieces of equipment, as well as any small, useful items.
We also launched a campaign two years ago to see how we could assist the various oncology consultants in dealing with the backlog of cases – I am sure you and your colleagues will be pleased to hear that we received a good number of consultant requests for equipment, all of which are now being dealt with (or have already been provided and commissioned) and we as trustees have, in just these last two years, been able to purchase various items, large and small, totalling nearly £200,000, all of which are now in use in our local Maelor hospital.
