Donation to Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Guiding Light Appeal

Thank you for your donation of £400.00 from the Prison Service Charity Fund towards Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Guiding Light Appeal.

Every year more than 11,000 people across the region are diagnosed with cancer, on top of the nearly 70,000 already living with cancer.

Your generous support will help ensure thousands of radiotherapy patients each year will benefit from Surface Guided Radiotherapy Treatment (SGRT. This will mean less manual handling of patients, a reduction in the use of closed treatment masks for head and neck cancer patients, and the end of marking tattoos, which can be a constant and sometimes psychologically damaging reminder of cancer. It will ensure we deliver treatment with the highest level of accuracy currently possible, minimising side effects and treatment time.

The installation of SGRT equipment will revolutionise radiotherapy for the region, and the Rosemere Cancer Centre will be only the 15th out of 65 radiotherapy centres nationally to deliver this specialist treatment.

Without your support, Rosemere wouldn’t be able to fund projects like this which impact thousands of patients every year. Your kindness will help to make a significant difference for local cancer patients.
